In July 2008, the Australian Government introduced the Medicare Teen Dental Plan to help with the cost of an annual preventative dental check.

What this means for you is that if you have children at home aged between 12 and 17 they could be eligible for a subsidised dental visit.

Many people put off  going to the dentist when they feel something is wrong because they think that time will fix it and it will get better soon.

Unfortunately this is rarely the case with teeth and a small problem caught early often does not cost as much to fix as you may think. A small problem if left unattended can have much larger consequences and ultimately result in much higher costs to repair the damage.
